You Do Not Belong to This World

My fellow sisters and brothers in Christ, I have a simple question for all of you. Why does every time we have problem we keep on thinking that life is so unfair, the world is against you and sometimes we feel that we hate the entire world?

I have an answer for that “sort of” sensible question.

You do not belong to this world! It’s simple as that. John 15:19 says, Jesus said, “If you belong to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you”. In what part of this world do you think we belong? I guess we have the same answer.

But before anything else, I would like you to think on how Jesus faces the persecutors in His time. What if you are one of the people in those times and actually see how they mock Jesus? How would you react? Jesus says, “If they persecute me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also” (John 15:20b).

Why they will treat you this way? Because of His name for they do not know the One who sent Him. They don’t even know who the Creator is. Until now, many of us encounter the same way. Different ways of persecution but have the same thinking that they hated God first. For me, it’s hard to face the truth that when you are being with God, the closer it gets the extreme persecutions you receive from different people.

See, it’s not only you who has the feeling of unfairness and hatred to this world! You have brothers and sisters with you. Fighting and keeping the faith is very important. Who will stand up for God until the end? Is it you? Let’s see how far you would go against the mockers.

Be proud that you do not belong to this world! Shout it and make them feel that Jesus is with you.
