Take it easy. Seize the moment. Have a break. .
How would you do these in the middle of school works, organization tasks and ministry? Students everywhere are too busy. Everyone does their responsibility without knowing the effects on them about these. It made me think of Jesus whenever He sees me while I’m doing my school works. Most of us are working for long hours at stressful stuffs just to meet targets. But at the end of the day, we crash into bed forgetting personal devotions and prayers, or maybe that’s just me.
Is He smiling because of my diligence? Is He proud of me because I have my attitude like no any other students have? Or He is sad because I may not remember Him while I’m at work and not glorifying Him because of busyness?
Yet, a fraction of my friends seem to be in the same situation. Tired and stressed in doing the same thing every week. Are you related on these? Or you’re just ignoring and denying that you are one of these?
Let’s put ourselves in this story. Philip, a soldier who is very courageous in everything he does is walking down the city of Gulliver. It is a busy city, full of vendors and very crowded. Until he saw a snatcher holding a bag of a lady rushing down the street trying to escape. He didn’t think twice and tried to follow the snatcher and ran as fast as he could. But he didn’t notice that he already bumped a vendor holding a bunch of oranges on the top of his head. The oranges rolled into the crowd as he tried to pick every piece of it and put back to the container. Philip doesn’t know what to do first. But in the middle of this, he picked up all the oranges from the ground and help the vendor put back into the container. Not only put back but he wiped out the dirt of each orange with his clothes. After this, he still tried to follow the snatcher but luckily, the policemen already caught him.
Lesson? We don’t just help because we ought to do but we should sincerely help the person because we are concern. Try to look on the situation of Philip. He didn’t just put back the oranges in the container but rather put it back and wiped out the dirt of the oranges. How sincere he was! What if you are in his situation? Will you do what he did? Or simply ignore what you have done?
Let’s have another story. Nathaniel the rich man is walking down the road sees the disabled woman on the corner of the street trying to cross the road. His mind is in the process of making a choice if he will help the woman or not. “Shall I help her? I see this kind of thing on television. They say that in this time of need I should help her. But I’m late for work; I have meetings to attend and work to do. And if I help her, I have to stop for a minute and get dirty. Ah, I have more important things to do!”
Are we so busy that we do not remember the things that really please God? Let us be reminded that whatever we do, whether in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus (Col.3:17). We are not pleasing the people around us in what we do for God. God knows the heart. He knows and sees how we offer our time and effort in everything we do.
Sometimes, we’re just simply passing the exams or subjects we have just to please other people. Just to end the day to escape the difficulties. We feel that our life lacks real power because of stress, pressure and busyness. Maybe it’s time to leave those things for a moment and go back to our Father and feel His presence. Think what really matters.
My God spoke to me in His letter. Here’s what the letter said..
To: You
From: God
Date: Today
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE
This is God. Today, I will be handling all of your problems for you. I do not need your help so have a nice day. I love you.
P.S.
And remember, if life happens to deliver a situation that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it by yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (Something for God to Do) Box. I will get it in my TIME. All situations will be resolved but in MY TIME, NOT YOURS.
Once the matter is placed in the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Focus on all wonderful things that are present in your life now.
God has seen you struggling; God says it’s over.
It’s time to have a break. Have a quiet time with Him.
God Bless!
